The 500 series have ½" of extra insolate padding. The Izorline Rod Butt Rest AL-539 is inexpensive and works great! These rod butt rests are necessary to keep your fishing rod from digging into your hip while fighting your fish. It is very painful to fish without these or similar rod butt rests.
