Calstar Roller Guide Stand Up Tuna and Trolling Rods
Calstar Rods developers of the original stand up tuna rods used on the Long Range boats fishing the giant Yellowfin Tuna off the Baja, coast of Mexico, Panama and out at the Revillagigedo Islands. This series of rods in the 5'6" and 6' models were the original "stand up" rods used before the use of the rail was favored. So popular for their high leverage they have also become the norm for trolling rods on smaller skiffs and private boats fishing not only tuna, but a multitude of other species as well.
These rods are build on Calstar fiberglass blanks and are fitted with Aftco Roller Guides and reelseats.
The IGFA models feature Aftco Roller Guides and Aftco Unibutt Aluminum handles. These rods range from 6'8" to 7'2" and are intended to be fished from a fighting chair.
