Tony Reyes Trip Report and Fish Count October 10th, 2010

October 25, 2010 – 12:01 pm

Another great Tony Reyes trip has returned to port. I love that no matter what else is going on in the world, San Felipe and Tony Reyes seems unaffected by it all. What a great way to get away from it all and have the fishing trip of your life.

The Tony Reyes left San Felipe at 11:00 A.M. and the weather was good. The First day they fished Snake and Partida Islands which produced some nice carbrillas and yellowtail. In the afternoon they ventured to Salsipuedes Island and then San Francisquito Bay in the evening to make live bait. The following morning they started fishing at San Lorenzo Island which again greeted them with great weather, yellowtail, pargos and cabrillas. The next day they continued to fish that area and Javier Calvo from Orange, Ca. caught a 130 pound black sea bass while fishing with Santiago Rojas and their guide Jorge!

One of the nights they fished for giant Humboldt squid, that is one of my favorite types of fishing, its just a blast! Its hard to explain how much fun it is pulling those giant sea monsters over the side of the boat, you really must put this on your bucket list! The following day at the same spot brought limits on spotted bass and a few dorados. The last day was spent at the Golden Reef, it was a little windy which makes it difficult to fish it as you are trying to stay on top of the reef. They were able to pull some spotted bass, yellowtail and a few white sea bass, good job guys!
