Tony Reyes Trip Report and Fish Count for Oct 27th- Nov 1st, 2013

November 4, 2013 – 10:45 am

There was good weather and lots of live bait at San Francisquito. San Lorenzo reef has been a hot spot of late and again the yellowtail were going off on it. The yellowtail were being dropper loop fished with live bait, fun! Cut bait also produced some nice yellowtail and broomtail grouper as well. San Esteban had big yellowatail on the reefs, medium size yellows up to 14lbs were also caught trolling around the island.

The weather began to change from warm days to a cold front. Wednesday the wind picked up and so we had the pangas fish close to the mothership until 11:00 A.M. with great results. We fished a half day at Snake Island catching more big yellowtail on the reefs there and some nice cabrilla.

Fish Count Weight LB.

Sheephead 6 To 8lbs
Spotted Bass 197 To 6lbs

  2. I was on the trip. Our panga caught 3 broomtail groupers – to 24 lbs. It was one heck of a trip – even without being able to fish for 2 sessions due to wind. :)
