Tony Reyes Trip Report and Fish Count for July 10th-15th, 2011
July 18, 2011 – 2:16 pmThe weather was good with some light southern breezes, beautiful Sea of Cortez nights lead them to sleep. Another great trip with a nice fish count, good job guys!
There was a steady yellowtail bite at La Guardia Island, they were fishing live bait, dropper loop style. There were also some nice cabrilla caught using that technique. Partida Island produced some medium yellowtail, cabrilla and two nice broom tail cabrilla.
They then headed to Refugio island where fishing slowed a bit due to no live bait. The full moon the night before hindered live bait making. So they threw jigs and trolled mirrolures. Both techniques succeeded in landing some nice cabrillas and yellowtail.
A giant 100 pound grouper was caught on live bonita and some of the beasts broke hearts and lines that day. The last day saw corvinas close to The Enchanted Islands shoreline.
