Tony Reyes Boat Fish Count and Trip Report May 30th, 2010
June 7, 2010 – 4:18 pmChartermaster Doug Hogan ran his seventh tour in the last four years, and he said this trip was again memorable. San Felipe this time of year is majestic and beautiful, you could spend weeks down there soaking up the culture.
He reports that cooler temperatures slowed the yellowtail bite, but an abundance of spotted bass and pargo came in. The spotted bass were mostly five to six pounds which is nice! The pargo topped out at a whopping fifteen pounds! Anglers caugh eight white sea bass averaging ten to twelve pounds. The whopper of the week was a fourty six pound grouper. Surface jigs produced cabrilla as large as eighteen pounds and those babies can fight! The fishing was fantastic and fun as usual.
We all went home with ice chests stuffed full of quality table fish and memories to last a lifetime.
