Tony Reyes Boat Fish Count and Trip Report April 25th, 2010
May 3, 2010 – 5:48 pmThe “Tony Reyes” just returned from its maiden voyage of the season into The Sea of Cortez. Some of the fishing grounds included San Pedro Martir, San Esteban Island, Snake Island, Partida Island, Enchanted Island and the coast south of Gonzaga Bay.
The weather was fantastic but got a little windy on Thursday. The water temperature was between 60 and 65 degrees. There were schools of Yellowtail everywhere and tons of small bait in the water which kept the Yellowtail busy. The Sea of Cortez is showing great signs for the bite to break wide open anytime now. Live bait was scarce this trip so jig fishing, trolling with mirrolures and cut bait was the trick.
Overall a great trip and Scotty the chartermaster did a fantastic job as always!
